José Juan Rico (Jr.) is the founder and CEO of Tribes.Men Gatherings.

As founder it is my duty to be an example of the integrity, accountability, vulnerability and empowerment that Tribes.Men Gatherings represents. It is my goal to make sure each of our monthly Gatherings have an intention along with an outline of how each process will go.

Working closely with the Tribes.Men Leadership Team, my intention is to hold space for men to feel able to admit that he does not have it all figured out but more importantly to be a reminder that he has all the power within to be able to manifest a life his heart desires.

“Who am I as a man?” was the question. It’s the reason I started Tribes.Men Gatherings. I felt as if for a time I was lost in my emotions, I wasn’t truly living in the present moment. That all changed when I learned to love myself unconditionally. I know there are other men out there lost in their emotions just like I was. I have made it a personal goal to create a shift in men in how we think a “man” has to be. I believe it starts with holding space for trust, acceptance, support, love, compassion, forgiveness! These words all have the power to truly change someone’s life. It is my purpose to show all men that they exist. My vision is that together we can assist each other in finding the answer to the question “Who am I as a man?” and what that answer looks like for each individual.

I have always known I had a unique perspective, but I never knew what that was exactly. It wasn’t until February of 2015 when I went through The Impact Trainings. I chose to experience The Core and Life Mastery Trainings. This clarified everything that I had been doubting up until I decided to lean in at 24 years old. After finishing The Core Trainings and Life Mastery 1, 2 and 3, I felt more grounded and clear then ever! From then on I have been living my authentic self. I have been showing up in my magnificence for everyone around me and more importantly, sharing my love has become easier because I learned to love myself.

There are a handful of things that I’m passionate about, family being first! As the oldest brother of 4, I have always felt like a protector. Everything I do is for family. My parents came from Mexico. Having parents from a different country and being the first of the family to be born in the United States, is something I am truly proud of. Music is my second passion. My heart lives for music, not a day goes by that a song does not inspire me in some way. It’s my dream to be involved in the music scene of my community.
